General Information for Submission of Abstracts:

Participants who would like to present an oral and/or poster presentation must submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee. The abstract(s) should be submitted in English to Secretariat no later than May 31, 2008. All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. Each abstract received will be forwarded to the Scientific Committee for review. The presenting author is needed to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission to the secretariat.

Accepted abstracts will be published on Acta Physiologica Sinica which is sponsored by the Chinese Association for Physiological Sciences. The publication of, as well as the inclusion in the program of the abstract(s) is subject to the payment of the registration fee. The abstracts will be selected for Young Physiologists’ Symposium (the candidate should be under the age of 40), or free oral or poster presentations. Please indicate if you are submitting the abstract for the Young Physiologists’ Symposium, or for a free oral or poster presentation. Please also indicate the subject category of the abstract (see list below) and the abstract category. Authors will be notified of acceptance and of the type of presentation, which will be decided by the Scientific Committee. Before the deadline of abstract submission, you may still access the online submission system and make any changes to your abstract(s). Abstract(s) should not be edited after the deadline of submission.


Guidelines for Submission:

Abstracts should be submitted in English. Abstract prepared for upload should be in MS Word for Windows or in Rich Text Format. To ensure that symbols such as “ μ ” are reproduced correctly, please color-mark them. Abstracts should be prepared in 11-point Times New Roman, one (1) paragraph, and typed single spaced.

Format and Content:

Title : No more than 20 words in upper space

Authors: (1) Enter all the co-authors' name and the presenting author's information. (2)The participant may be the first presenting author of one abstract only; however, a participant may be second or subsequent author on other abstracts.

Affiliations: Enter the institutions for all your coauthors; please provide the email address of the presenter

Body : Abstracts submitted should describe work that has not been published or presented at other meetings. All Abstracts should include: (1) a brief introduction; (2) relevant information on methods; (3) summarized results; and (4) conclusion drawn from the results.

Please avoid using statements like “the results will be discussed”. No figure or table will be permitted in the abstract. Responsibility for the literary and scientific content of abstracts accepted for publication shall remain with the authors and their sponsoring institutions.

Keywords: No more than 4 words, presented on one single line, separated by semicolons.

Acknowledgement: Thanks should follow the key words at the end of the abstract.

*Please note: abstract body, keywords, acknowledgement should not exceed 400 words.

Abstract Categories:

When submitting your abstract, please indicate in which category you recommend that your presentation be scheduled. If you don’t see a relevant topic category for your abstract, please choose the topic that is nearest to the relevance of your research. The Scientific Committee will review each abstract to determine its proper placement in the programming of each session.
